A 62-year-old California woman was found safe in the Big Sky area Tuesday afternoon after a search that spanned two days.
The woman was reported missing after she failed to return from a hike on Monday. She left for the Cedar Loop Trail at about noon and was reported at 6:30, according to the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office.
On Monday night, two helicopters and search teams converged on the area. On Tuesday, the search effort gained more dog teams and members of Madison County Search and Rescue. Yellowstone Club personnel also assisted.
Despite temperatures in the low 40s, the woman was reported to be in good health. She was taken to a hospital to be checked.
