A 30-year-old Hinsdale woman was hit and killed by a car on U.S. Route 2 in Valley County on Friday night, according the Montana Highway Patrol.

The driver of a pickup was pulling a van out of a ditch on the side U.S. Route 2 at about mile marker 520 at the time of the fatal crash, Montana Highway Patrol trooper David Moon said.

The victim was standing nearby when, at about 8:35 p.m., a person driving an Oldsmobile west hit the woman and the truck pulling the van, the trooper said.

The woman was killed and both drivers suffered minor injuries, Moon said.

The crash remains under investigation, and it was unknown late Friday night if alcohol or speed were factors in the incident, Moon said.
