MISSOULA — Missoula police are investigating an alleged wheelchair robbery that occurred in a downtown alley at 2:28 a.m. Saturday.

Missoula Police spokesman Travis Welsh said a homeless male reported being assaulted and robbed by two men while he was sleeping in an alley in the 400 block of North Higgins Avenue.

A Hispanic and a white man allegedly beat the sleeping man until he lost consciousness. When he awoke, he realized they had stolen his wheelchair.

The victim told police he couldn’t identify the men if he saw them again, Welsh said.

Please call Missoula Crimestoppers at 721-4444 or Detective Mitch Lang at 552-3334 with any information regarding the incident.
