Livingston resident David Russell Hargrove admitted Wednesday that he possessed child pornography on his computer.

Hargrove, 33, appeared in Billings before Senior U.S. District Judge Jack Shanstrom, who set sentencing for Aug. 7. Hargrove faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a possible $250,000 fine. He remains in custody.

The prosecutor said Hargrove possessed the material in 2010 and 2011 and admitted to using file-sharing programs. The images included prepubescent children and sadistic and masochistic abuse of children, which can bring longer sentences.
