A Lodge Grass woman died and three other women were injured on Sunday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash near St. Xavier.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the 22-year-old woman, whose name has not been released, was driving a Dodge Colt northbound on Secondary Highway 313 south of St. Xavier when it went off of the road at about 3:30 p.m. It skidded off the road at a left-hand curve and struck an embankment.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene, the patrol said.
Three women -- ages 19, 25 and 26 -- who were riding in the Dodge were injured in the crash and taken to area hospitals. Only one of them was wearing a seat belt, according to the highway patrol.
Investigators believe both alcohol and excessive speed played roles in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
