Missoula County Public Schools canceled all high school basketball games for its three Class AA schools Thursday ahead of a blizzard warning in effect for the Missoula area that also forced school closures for Friday.

The cancellations affected both boys' and girls' basketball – Hellgate’s games with Kalispell Flathead, Sentinel’s with Helena Capital and Big Sky’s with Helena High.

The Hellgate games have been rescheduled for Saturday. The varsity boys’ action will be at 4 p.m. with the Knights hosting Flathead while the girls are on the road in Kalispell for a 7 p.m. tip.

Sentinel’s games will take place Monday with the girls in Missoula at 7 p.m. and the boys in Helena to face Capital.

Big Sky’ girls are also slated to be in town for a makeup with Helena at 7 p.m. with the boys traveling to face the Bengals.

Big Sky and Sentinel have previously scheduled games for Saturday that would have been regular-season finales. Those games may also be postponed should the inclement weather conditions persist to make travel unsafe for team buses.

Watch Missoulian.com Friday and Saturday for updates.

The Class AA state play-in games are also scheduled for next week following the conclusion of the regular season. The combined State AA tournament will be in Billings the following week starting March 13.
