At 3 a.m. on Sunday, the driver of a Subaru Forester heading southbound on Gold Creek Road in Missoula was killed when his car left the road and tumbled down an embankment.

The driver, a 23-year-old Missoula man, was driving around a left-hand curve when he left the roadway.

The driver and his two passengers, a 20-year-old female and a 20-year-old male, went off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

The two passengers were not injured but the driver was pinned in the car. He was pronounced dead at St. Patrick Hospital.  

The investigation into the crash is continuing.
