The community is invited to a listening session on potential budget cuts to state human services. The meeting will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Vincent Healthcare's Mansfield Health Education Center.

The session is sponsored by The Arc Montana and Parents, Let's Unite for Kids, two Montana nonprofit organizations that advocate for people with special needs.

According to state Sen. Mary Caferro, D-Helena, the session will be run much like a legislative hearing. All Billings-area legislators have been invited. Legislators will be seated at the front of the room, and the public will be giving comments with volunteers running two cordless microphones to people.

Caferro called the session "an opportunity for legislators to hear from their constituents and an opportunity for constituents to share their comments with their legislators."
