A nonprofit horse rehabilitation program in Belgrade has offered shelter for horses from areas of Montana struggling with wildfire.

MAERA, Montana Awareness Education and Equine Rehabilitation Association, can arrange for transportation in some instances. The offer is made for horses in immediate danger and those that have been displaced or lost in fires.

The organization will post lost horses brought to the shelter on its website, www.montanaawareness.com, so owners can locate missing animals.

Contact MEARA at its website or call (406) 551-4913 or (406) 600-3756.
