A softball tournament to honor Sidney High School teacher Sherry Arnold has been set for June 9-10 at South Meadow Softball Complex in Sidney.

Arnold, a popular educator in the community, was kidnapped during a morning run in January and killed.

Justin Nuveman, recreation coordinator for Richland County, said tourney participants will celebrate Arnold's life in a family-friendly way. The tournament is open to all ages. There is a $100 entry fee per team. A freewill-donation barbecue is set for the evening of June 9. Proceeds from the weekend tourney will go toward recreational equipment and continuing the tournament, Nuveman said.

The tournament organizer is Tammy Pederson. Teams can sign up with Pederson at 406-489-0451 or
