A policy discussion about putting a hold on acquisition of new parklands at a time when resources are stretched will be one of the topics the Montana State Parks and Recreation Board will discuss when it meets at Makoshika State Park’s Visitor Center in Glendive on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Other topics include: update on park operations and supporting programs, update on the strategic planning process, an informational presentation about state park user fees and comparatives in surrounding states; update on the federally funded Recreational Trails Program grant program; update on the Land and Water Conservation Fund grant program; and a presentation about collaborative opportunities with the National Park Service in 2016 for its 100th anniversary.
