A South Dakota woman suspected in the murder of a Lame Deer woman last year has been booked into the Yellowstone County jail in Billings.

Eugenia Ann Rowland, 41, of Pine Ridge, S.D., arrived at the jail on Thursday after being extradited from Rapid City, where she made an initial appearance in federal court on March 27. FBI agents arrested her on a warrant on March 26.

Rowland faces second-degree murder charges in the July 4, 2013 death of Hanna Harris, 21, who went missing on July 4 in Lame Deer and was found dead several days later near the town’s rodeo grounds.

Rowland’s co-defendant, Garrett Sidney Henderson Wadda, 44, a transient with family in Montana and Wyoming, pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and to aggravated sexual abuse during an arraignment on April 2 before U.S. Magistrate Carolyn Ostby in Billings.

Wadda was arrested in Wyoming on March 26 and had his initial appearance in Lander. He remains in custody.

An arraignment date for Rowland has not yet been set.
