JACKSON - Construction of a new terminal at the Jackson Hole Airport could begin as early as June.

Airport officials this week accepted a bid of roughly $30 million for the project.

Airport director Ray Bishop said bids for the terminal building came in about $1 million higher than expected while the baggage system came in about $500,000 lower.

Construction is expected to take about two years, during which time the airport located in Grand Teton National Park will remain open.

The project will increase the airport terminal's size from 54,000 square feet to 93,000 square feet.

Most of the funding for the project comes from the federal government.
