LARAMIE, Wyo. — The University of Wyoming will confer honorary doctoral degrees upon four people during commencement ceremonies next month.

They include historian and scholar Robert Bonner, and Dr. Jeffrey Cummings, a leading Alzheimer's disease researcher. The other two are mathematician and entrepreneur Phil Lantz, and geologist and educator Lord Ronald Oxburgh.

Commencement is scheduled for May 7.

University alumni, trustees and faculty are eligible to nominate people for honorary degrees. Recipients have made notable contributions to the health, education or welfare of Wyoming residents.
