CHEYENNE - Saturday school, smaller class sizes and more teacher training are among the changes coming to two Wyoming schools with low test scores.
The schools' reforms have been approved by the Wyoming State Board of Education after they were required under federal law to submit restructuring plans.
Cooperative High School in Carbon and Johnson Junior High School in Laramie failed for five years to meet federal No Child Left Behind standards for improvement in test scores.
The approved changes include Saturday morning and Wednesday evening classes at Cooperative. Johnson's plans include reducing class sizes and giving teachers more training.
