GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. -- The National Park Service says limited elk hunting will begin Saturday in Grand Teton National Park to manage the size of the herd.

The Park Service said Wednesday that Wyoming-licensed hunters can apply for limited-quota permits on two hunting areas inside the park and east of the Snake River.

Officials say federal law requires reduction of the herd to keep numbers near target levels.
