CHEYENNE, Wyo. - The Environmental Protection Agency has found toxins in some private water wells in Fremont County.

The EPA says initial tests found low levels of contaminants in about six wells outside the town of Pavillion. It plans more testing to try to determine the source and any possible health risks.

The EPA has advised some residents with contaminated wells to avoid drinking the water. The agency will hold a meeting Tuesday in Pavillion to discuss the issue and address any health concerns.

The wells are in an active area for natural gas production. Some residents believe drilling by EnCana Corp. has fouled their water and air.

The Canadian company says there's no evidence its activities have caused any problems.
