PAVILLION, Wyo. - The Environmental Protection Agency says it found contamination in 11 of the 39 water wells it tested in the Pavillion area of Fremont County.

But federal officials told a crowd of about 70 people this week that further tests are needed to determine levels of contamination, how much of a health hazard it poses and the source.

Some Pavillion area residents blame recent energy production by EnCana for their contaminated wells.

EnCana officials say the company is assisting the EPA and will continue to do so as the agency tries to pinpoint a source of the contamination.
