CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Gov. Matt Mead has appointed former Cheyenne state Sen. Jayne Mockler to the Wyoming Board of Equalization.

Mockler replaces Deborah Smith, who retired in December 2012. The Board of Equalization is a full-time board with three members who hear tax disputes in the state. Appointees are confirmed by the Senate.

Mockler was born in Jackson and served in the Legislature from 1992 to 2008. She has served on many boards, including the Wyoming Taxpayers Association and the Wyoming affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
