CASPER, Wyo. — Doors open at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday for first-come, first-served seating at the 2014 Wyoming Primary Gubernatorial Debate at Casper College.
Gov. Matt Mead and Taylor Haynes, both Republicans, will debate. Superintendent of Public Instruction Cindy Hill, also a Republican gubernatorial candidate, declined the invitation.
The debate begins at 7 p.m. in the Wheeler Concert Hall, in the music building, at the intersection of Casper Mountain Road and Campus Drive.
“The citizens of the state of Wyoming will see candidates answer questions important to them and make judgments of which candidate best aligns with their values,” said Nathan Bekke, publisher of the Casper Star-Tribune, which is sponsoring the debate with the college and KCWY News 13.
The primary is Aug. 19.
Campaign materials will be prohibited at the debate.
Voters unable to attend the debate can watch it on trib.com beginning Wednesday evening. They can also watch it on KCWY at 7 p.m. Saturday or via a live stream on the KCWY website.
