Brian Liesinger has been selected as the new executive director of the Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation.

Liesinger comes to the HMWF from Minneapolis, where he worked as a communications manager at the University of Minnesota Learning Abroad Center.

He also has experience as a journalist and educator.

Liesinger impressed the foundation's board of directors with his versatility and interest in Japanese American internment issues during interviews in March.

Liesinger takes over for Stevan Leger, whose leadership was instrumental in the construction and opening of the Heart Mountain Interpretive Learning Center in 2011.

Leger served the foundation for two years and retired this spring.

The Heart Mountain Interpretive Learning Center, located between Cody and Powell on Highway 14a, is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entry is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors. Children under 12 receive free admission.
