Newcastle native, UW grad wins Miss Wyoming

Miss Weston County Rebecca Podio won the title of 2013 Miss Wyoming during Saturday night's competition at the WYO Theater in Sheridan, Wyo., according to a news release.

From Newcastle, Wyo., Podio will go to Atlantic City, N.J., to compete in the Miss America Pageant on Sept. 15.

Podio, 23, graduated in May from the University of Wyoming with bachelor's degrees in petroleum engineering, finance and economics.

Her talent is piano. She'll travel across the state to promote her platform, "Community in the Classroom."

Miss Wyoming 2012 Lexie Madden, of Torrington, Wyo., placed third in last year's national competition.
