SPEARFISH, S.D. — Two Florida residents were taken into custody after a police chase that began in Wyoming and ended in South Dakota.

The Wednesday night incident began when a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper stopped a vehicle west of Sundance. Authorities say the vehicle fled but eventually was stopped by troopers across the South Dakota border near Spearfish.

The two people in the vehicle were arrested on traffic and drug charges in South Dakota. Wyoming authorities also are citing them for traffic-related offenses. The 35-year-old woman and 25-year-old man are from Lakeland, Fla.
