LARAMIE, Wyo. - Residents around the state have helped produce a list of desired qualifications and characteristics for University of Wyoming officials to seek in the search for a new president.
A consulting firm UW hired to assist with the presidential search conducted public meetings in nine communities in Wyoming.
Consultants also met with UW faculty, staff and students.
Based on feedback from those meetings, a new president would have a commitment to undergraduate and graduate education, research and service to the state; an appreciation for the relationship UW has with the state; insight into academic and business issues facing higher education and other attributes.
President Tom Buchanan is retiring in August 2013.
