LARAMIE — Three University of Wyoming graduates will receive distinguished alumni awards during homecoming festivities Oct. 13.

The 2012 recipients are:

Harriet Elizabeth "Liz" Byrd, a retired educator and Laramie County legislator who earned a masters of arts degree in 1976.

Gregory Dyekman, a Cheyenne attorney who received a bachelor of science degree in 1977 and a law degree in 1980.

Joe Meyer, a longtime public servant and the current state treasurer, who received a bachelor of arts degree in 1964 and a law degree in 1967.

According to a UW media release, the three honorees will attend several homecoming activities, ride in the parade Oct. 13 and be recognized during the Cowboys' football game against Air Force at 5 p.m.
