CASPER, Wyo. — Police charged a couple with public indecency this weekend after they were found engaging in sexual activity in a Casper movie theater, according to a police affidavit.

Michele Nye Ray, 46, and David Arthur Cotton, 45, were arrested late Friday night after fellow moviegoers reported the couple was having oral sex in the back row of the theater, the affidavit states.

Witnesses said the couple was speaking loudly during the opening of the movie “Godzilla” at Fox Theater, 150 West Second St. According to witnesses, the talking eventually ended and was replaced with sounds that indicated the couple was engaging in oral sex, the affidavit states.

Witnesses alerted the theater’s manager to what Ray and Cotton were doing, and the manager advised the couple they needed to stop.

The affidavit states the couple continued to have oral sex, causing the manager to call police about 11:30 p.m.

Both Ray and Cotton were drunk at the time they were arrested, according to authorities. Ray refused to allow officers to search her purse, but after she was detained a bottle of Fireball whiskey was found in the bag.

Both people are charged with public intoxication and indecent exposure. Ray faces additional charges of interference and having an open container.
