CHEYENNE, Wyo. - Officials have found more money for a proposed major renovation of the State Capitol in Cheyenne.

Budget officials recently discovered an extra $7.9 million that is earmarked for the project.

That money is in addition to the separate Capitol Rehabilitation and Reserve Account that contains about $93 million.

Jim Chaput is the interim construction manager for the state.

He told the State Building Commission last week that legislators set aside $7.9 million during the 2003 session.

He said that he and others were unaware of the funds' existence until two week ago.

Chaput recommends that the Legislature transfer the $7.9 million into the bigger renovation fund, which would bring that account to more than $100 million.
