SHERIDAN — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is asking the public for help in solving the poaching of a large bull elk in northern Natrona County.

Game and Fish says the six-point bull was found shot and abandoned on Saturday morning. It was on the Antelope Springs Ranch, in the Bobcat Basin area.

Joe Gilbert is regional wildlife supervisor for the game department in Sheridan. He says nothing was removed from the carcass. He says it appears the elk was just shot and left to spoil.

Gilbert asks anyone with information on the crime to contact the game department.
