CHEYENNE — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is asking the public for information about a bull moose illegally killed off of Happy Jack Road, in the Pole Mountain section of the Medicine Bow National Forest.

The game department says the moose was shot off the south side of the highway, about 1.2 miles west of the Blair-Wallis Campground turnoff. The carcass was loaded near the old Happy Jack Ski Area road.

The game department is asking anyone who saw people or a vehicle parked in the area on Wednesday night or early Thursday to contact authorities.

Moose season closed in the area on Oct. 31.
