JACKSON — Hunters looking for elk around Jackson should review the current hunting regulations because seasons have changed in several areas.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department reminds hunters that there are many changes to elk hunting seasons around Jackson.

Hunt Area 74, including Shadow Mountain east of Grand Teton National Park, is an example. Hunting there closed on Oct. 25 this year while it has remained open into December in years past.

North Jackson Game Warden Bill long says wardens have come across some hunters in closed areas this fall. He says hunters are assuming that closed areas are open because they were in the past.
