OPAL, Wyo. — A Wyoming natural gas processing plant is operating at about 40 percent of its typical seasonal level just over a week after an explosion and fire.

Williams Partners said Thursday that two of five cryogenic processing units at its plant near the town of Opal (oh-PAL') are running just over a week after the explosion was apparently triggered by a release of natural gas. The fire burned out after five days.

The Tulsa, Oklahoma-based company said damage from the April 23 explosion largely was limited to a small part of one unit. Two other units remain offline, including one that was idled before the fire.

The plant processes gas produced from western Wyoming and northern Utah wells.

Operators avoided disruption by diverting gas through other plants in southwest Wyoming.
