LARAMIE — Gas prices in Wyoming have steadily increased over the past few months but they remain the lowest in the country.
AAA spokeswoman Kaelyn Kelly said that the average price of a gallon of fuel in Wyoming is $3.38. The national average fuel price is $3.82 per gallon.
Wyoming's per-gallon price has increased nearly 60 cents from the year-to-date low of $2.80.
Kelly says fuel costs typically increase every spring, but not because of rising crude oil prices. She says fuel costs have increased because many refineries have shut down for annual maintenance.
