CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A man has been wounded in a shooting with state troopers on a highway in southeast Wyoming.

The Highway Patrol says the shooting occurred Saturday night during a chase that began after an earlier shooting in Hawk Springs in southern Goshen County.

The patrol says the chase ended on U.S. 85 north of Cheyenne in Laramie County when authorities used spikes to disable the fleeing vehicle.

The patrol says a man exited the vehicle and fired at troopers, who then returned fire.

The suspect was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center where he remained hospitalized Sunday.

No Troopers were injured during the incident.

The name of the man involved was not released.

The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating.
