YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK — Yellowstone National Park officials are working on removing trails that were illegally constructed in the park's southwestern corner.

Park officials say authorized trails in the area remain open and unaffected.

So-called "social trails" often result when people wander off established trails in heavily used areas near overlooks, along rivers and in places leading to climbing routes.

Park officials tell said somebody deliberately built the trails they're now trying to eliminate in the Bechler River area.
