It is an honor to serve my ward and my city. My wife, children and I are proud to live and be part of this great community. My essential priority for Ward 1 are my constituents. I will continue to serve them by being available, listening, understanding, researching and addressing their concerns. These goals are implemented as I continue to work in cooperation with our citizens, city staff, City Council, and the mayor through attending the task forces in our Ward 1, various boards and commissions, urban renewal districts and staying connected to businesses, nonprofits, and local leaders.
I will continue to focus on a balanced budget and sound infrastructure. Ward 1 top priorities will continue to be addressing neighborhood safety, removal of all lead pipes in neighborhoods, improve unpaved roads, support code enforcement issues, secure pedestrian safety, ensure wise growth and affordable housing, as well as keep developing our parks/trails, and improve drainage in key areas.
We must all keep our sleeves rolled up in addressing other challenging priorities tugging at the fabric of our community, including substance abuse and gangs, homelessness, transients and crime by working with our law enforcement and courts, city, business, community and nonprofit leaders.
We have accomplished much in these past years due to the effort and collaboration of many from parks and trails improvements to sidewalks, curbs and gutters constructed, new drainage, traffic addressed, task forces energized, and neighborhoods empowered. I am thankful for the dedication and effort of many. City Council is a “we” leadership working and networking with many others. I have discovered by working with others great results can be achieved. I promise to continue to work hard and invest. I am very grateful for your support.
