When my family and I moved to Billings three years ago, we bought a home in Lockwood out of desperation. A month from welcoming our second child, our home had sold, my husband’s new job had started and we needed a place to live — ASAP.
What we have found since moving here is that Lockwood is small but mighty. There is a tremendous sense of community spirit and devotion to children. We have been very pleased with the school in Lockwood and all that it has to offer. I love that our school is small enough that I know many of the parents by name and that most of the staff members and teachers know my child. I have no doubt the high school will be operated with the same level of excellence in education and caring concern for the students.
It is my understanding that Lockwood has fought a long time to be given the chance to build their own high school. A new high school means we will have a stronger voice in our children’s education. It means that the people who live in our community can shape the future of what education looks like for Lockwood families. I am excited about the proposed plans for the high school and cannot wait to see what the future holds for Lockwood.
