If nothing else, people across the political spectrum agree that our politics are more angry and less productive than they have been in a long time. Since the founding of our country, the way out of these messes has been citizen participation in the political process; demanding honesty and transparency from ourselves and those who run for office; all of us committing to candidates and causes, agreeing to disagree without being disagreeable.
In that spirit, I have been volunteering for John Heenan in his bid for Congress. While there are several excellent people in the running, I like John for his willingness to think outside the narrow box of political expediency and focus on issues and solutions. If endorsements are a measure, lots of people agree. Please take a look at the Heenan for Congress website and Facebook page.
Above all, register to vote, work for candidates and causes you believe in, and respect one another.
