Montana is an incredible tourist and recreation destination with our pristine and untouched public lands, but no one wants to be here or when our wildfires are out of control. Tourism and recreation are one of the biggest contributors to Montana’s economy and the entire industry is at risk from the proposal to repeal the Clean Power Plan.

The Clean Power Plan, a policy put in place under the Obama administration to lower our emissions, is an extremely important factor in Montana’s economy. In recent years, wildfires have been more intense than usual due to our warming climate which causes tourism and recreation to rapidly decline during this period. If the Trump administration and the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, Scott Pruitt, decide to repeal this plan it will lead to a CO2 free for all causing our climate to warm even more rapidly. Our state is projected to warm at faster rates than other places in the U.S. which is going to hurt our economy faster than we’re anticipating and we need to stand up and say something about it.

We as Montanans will see the harsh effects that climate change is bringing. We’re going to see negative impacts on our economy and all the natural beauty our state has to offer. We need to let Scott Pruitt and the Trump administration know that we do not approve of the repeal to protect our state.
