Sen. Jon Tester is eager to brag about the recent 90-day exemption for ag truckers that would temporarily give us more time to comply with the Electronic Logging Device regulation, going into effect this year, mandated under the MAP-21 bill (Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act) signed by President Obama in 2012. Don’t be fooled: Tester supported the MAP-21 law in 2012, voting with D.C. leadership under Harry Reid, Mitch McConnell and Chuck Schumer. The bill was lobbied for by giant corporations, and it’s no mystery why: the ELD mandate hurts small businesses.
I bought my first truck in '87 and have worked my way up to purchase my ninth truck this year. I don't have lobbyists in Washington. Few senators had the courage to stand with truckers and against the swamp, including Mike Lee and Rand Paul, who both voted against the bill.
Montana truckers don’t need someone to save face amid backlash to ridiculous mandates and regulations. We need more people like Lee and Paul to fight swampy laws from the start. I’m calling upon small-fleet owners and independent operators across Montana to fight the ELD mandate, vote out Tester, and support Matt Rosendale as our next U.S. Senator.
Jon Tester: You’ve done enough damage to my way of life already. Your voting record is clear: You don’t support Montana truckers. You support Obama, the swamp, and party leadership. You’ve reached your term limit.
