This really is the definition of adding insult to injury. First, Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke is advocating that we literally throw away $300 million of our citizen-owned federal assets each year, in the form of flared methane gas. (See Deborah Hanson’s Nov. 7 letter). The reason for taking this action, and I’m just guessing here, is so a few greedy and socially irresponsible oil and gas producers can make more money and make it faster?
Then in almost the same breath, Zinke says the way to decrease the $1.1 billion maintenance backlog of the National Park Service is to increase park entrance fees to a point that will prohibit many middle class families from enjoying the parks they own. Secretary Zinke, please explain how these actions demonstrate your so-called Montana values as the leader of Department of the Interior?
