Service Desk Analyst

(Computer Support Specialist II)

The Service Desk Analyst provides a range of services within the context of incident and service request management as a single point of contact for IT Center support. This includes first line technical support and problem resolution for students, faculty, and staff in the use of desktop and laptop computers and peripherals; mobile devices; software applications; operating system problems; email issues; network connectivity; password and resource access problems. This position may assist with DNS & IP address management. In addition, this position provides an interface for customers to other IT Center departments and distributed IT personnel; provides service request coordination for equipment purchases, moves, installations, upgrades, training requests, and user security account management; builds and maintains partnerships with customers by regularly demonstrating a high level of customer service, expertise and professionalism. This position rotates with other Service Desk Analysts to work an on-call schedule responsible for monitoring requests and communicating outages. This position will assist with Tier 2 (on-site) troubleshooting and computer assembly support as needed.

In support of the MontanaStateUniversity mission, the Information Technology Center (ITC) promotes, develops, delivers, and facilitates the use of information technology services and resources.

 

This position is located in the ITC User Services Group. The Computer Support Specialist III serves as the Lead/Senior position responsible for technical planning, research, design, construction, training, and support activities for learning and campus interactive space technology. Serves as technical expert and lead to staff supporting learning and campus space technology services.  This position is the lead position in the ITC Classroom Technology unit.
