Barney Myers and McDonald W. “Don” Held Sr. could be the poster boys for exercise.
Barney Myers, right, and McDonald Held celebrated their 103rd and 104th birthdays during a celebration at the YMCA on Friday morning. Here, Myers tells Held, “I’ll see ya’ next year” as he leaves the ceremony.
Drinking and smoking were never among his vices, but McDonald W. “Don” Held Sr. readily acknowledges some weaknesses.
When Barney Myers, the long-time mathematics teacher at Billings Senior High, retired in 1975, the Gazette ran a feature article lauding his remarkable success as the school’s cross-country coach.
