Recently, there has been talk about whether there are “alternatives” to the bond our district is running over the next several weeks. I would like to assure the city of Billings that this bond is not only the best option for our schools and our city, it is the only logical option.
With school ballots on their way soon, voters are hearing a lot of talk about school overcrowding. What we are’t hearing, though, is a lively, public discussion about whether the proposed bond is the best solution to to this and other problems in the district.
Now is the time to act for the future of our schools, we all know that waiting will only cost us more.
Tonight the Billings school board will consider the recommendations gleaned from more than a year of careful planning and research. The time has come for trustees to endorse a sound solution to the overcrowding that has affected students in all of our 22 elementary schools.
