GREAT FALLS — The Great Falls Voyagers never truly solved the right arm of Tyler Mahle.
The Mustangs clinched a Pioneer League playoff berth last Saturday, which rendered the balance of their regular season meaningless with respect to wins and losses.
GREAT FALLS — Tyler Mahle allowed one unearned run in 6 2/3 innings Wednesday and the Billings Mustangs beat Great Falls 4-1 to remain three games up in the Pioneer League’s North division.
GREAT FALLS – The Billings Mustangs were shut out for the final eight innings Tuesday night and fell 4-1 to the Great Falls Voyagers in the Pioneer League.
Dane Stone’s command made him one of the Pioneer League’s strongest pitchers in the first half of the season, and he carried that dominance into the second half as Great Falls shut out the Mustangs at Dehler Park.
Call it new life, renewed hope or a reboot. By any name, the Pioneer League’s split-season format means a second chance for 75 percent of the teams.
