Following the successful completion of work to clear hazardous fire-killed trees along trails and no additional activity on the fire over the past week, the Shoshone National Forest has lifted the area closure associated with the Hardluck fire.

CODY, Wyo. — Fire officials say a wildfire in northwest Wyoming has scorched more than 31 square miles.
As of Aug. 16, 2013, more than 40 active fires in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming had burned a total of nearly 500,000 acres, according to fire incident reports.
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cloud cover and relatively calm winds have slowed the growth of a wildfire that has burned more than 24 square miles in northwest Wyoming.

CODY — Cooler weather and cloud cover have helped slow the growth of the nearly 5,000-acre wildfire burning in the Washakie Wilderness in western Wyoming.
The weather mostly cooperated with the Emigrant and Hardluck fires, burning in Montana and Wyoming, respectively, and prompted little growth on Sunday.
The Hardluck fire burning in the Washakie Wilderness southwest of Cody, Wyo., was mapped at 1,200 acres on Friday.
