A sunken gold dredge was removed from just below Canyon Ferry Dam on Saturday with the help of a 75-ton crane and two trained scuba divers. Owner Early Griffith said he was in the final stages of purchasing the vessel when he learned it sank.

HELENA — It took eight hours, two trained scuba divers and one 75-ton crane, but the sunken gold dredge below Canyon Ferry Dam is back on dry land for the first time in months.
