HELENA — State lawmakers should reject a bill allowing bowhunters to use lighted nocks on their arrows because it violates the “primitive nature” of the sport, spokesmen for bowhunting and other hunting groups said Tuesday.
Only four months after it was passed, a voter-approved initiative removing nonresident license set-asides for outfitters seemed set for a challenge by an outfitter/legislator's bill.
There aren't any sandbags piled up in bunkerlike fashion around the Fish, Wildlife and Parks headquarters in Helena, but no other government agency is under such heavy fire this legislative session.
