GREAT FALLS — The rivalry between Broadus’ Kris Noble and Jordan’s Connor Murnion reached its apex Saturday during the State C track and field meet at Memorial Stadium. And similar to many of their previous battles, each came away a winner.

The 2014 state track and field meets have some big footsteps to follow.
The Broadus boys easily won the Southern C team title behind first-place finishes in the 400-meter relay and the 100-meter dash by Kris Noble. Broadview-Lavina won the girls title, while Park City finished second thanks to a strong performance on the track.

At various points this season, three Southern B throwers have held Montana’s best mark in the shot put.
The 2014 track and field postseason has arrived. District track meets for Class B and C athletes are underway, divisional meets are next week and state the week after.
