Polar Plunge. A frigid fundraiser brought 50 swimmers briefly into the water of Lake Elmo, all for the benefit of Montana Special Olympics. Yellowstone County Undersheriff Kevin Evans, the event chairman, reports that the 2014 Polar Plunge raised about $24,000 — $4,000 more than last year.
