Roots music duo Satsang features singer, songwriter and guitarist Drew McManus, left, and mandolinist David Cleaves.
“I just chopped wood, cooked food and played music,” Cleaves said of his early mandolin days in Port Townsend, Wash.
Drawing inspiration from the Westminster Spires south of Red Lodge, Drew McManus, left, and David Cleaves make up Satsang, a rootsy duo whose music fuses reggae, hip-hop and other world music elements. “This land, this whole area, is a big part of who I am,” said McManus.
There’s nobody else in this area that sounds quite like Satsang.
